CHIC
Membership
Chic is a membership-based organization, covering
multiple care settings in the region it serves. Its membership
includes hospitals, clinics, long-term care facilities, tribal
health facilities, higher education facilities and public health
departments. A 16-member Board directs the organization and
represents all constituents within its membership.
Since 1999, CHIC has been self-sustaining through
its membership structure and its ability to generate fees through
services. Support is based on the member organization's size and
services used. Hospitals and health systems pay fees based on number
of beds and employed medical provider. Clinics and Higher Education
Facilities provide support based on a fixed fee plus a charge per
medical provider. Long Term Care and Tribal Health entities pay
fixed participation fees. There is no charge for the Public Health
Departments. Members use part of their cost savings receive from
CHIC projects to pay for their membership with the organization.
